<p>The ICT Coordinator will be responsible for NEOnet’s website management and social media initiatives, will implement information and communications technology awareness building projects, prepare and deliver educational seminars and presentations and assist with other NEOnet projects and initiatives. She or he will promote greater awareness and adoption of technology through the promotion of educational presentations and professional development events, both formal and informal. She or he will encourage partnership development between the public and private sector by assisting in community capacity building initiatives, at the discretion of the Director of Operations.</p>
<h2><strong>Responsibilities</strong></h2>
<p><strong>35% Website and social networking development, content management and maintenance</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Update and maintain NEOnet’s website and Facebook page &#8211; daily</li>
<li>Research technology education and awareness articles and resources for website updates</li>
<li>Review and update the content on website ensuring all information is accurate and relevant</li>
<li>Engage stakeholders through the social networking initiative and increase NEOnet’s overall web presence</li>
<li>Promote and maintain a technology speaker/provider database</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>25% Small business training and ICT studies and reports</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Develop and deliver E-Business training opportunities for small businesses throughout the region</li>
<li>Implement strategy to encourage SME to adopt ICT</li>
<li>Develop strategies for regional surveys and studies</li>
<li>Target specific industries and demographics</li>
<li>Generate enthusiasm and interest within the community for the advantages of integrating telecom and network technology into their operations</li>
<li>Promote telecom and IT initiatives within the region to all stakeholders, including government and the private sector</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>25% Information and Communications Technology Research and Awareness</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Analyze trends in telecom application development</li>
<li>Research and report on technology implementation in the region</li>
<li>Organize ICT awareness activities in the region, including technology luncheons</li>
<li>Prepare and submit press releases for various initiatives, as directed</li>
<li>Develop an outreach strategy to assist with unserved and underserviced areas</li>
<li>Facilitate development of district-wide initiatives</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>15% Other duties as required</strong></p>

<li>Assist NEOnet in carrying out projects as per our mandate.</li>
</ul>
<h2>Applicant Eligibility Criteria and Other Information</h2>
<p><strong>Education and Training</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>3-year diploma or degree in business, marketing, communications or a related field</li>
<li>Formal training in one of the ICT fields (project management, computers, telecommunications, e-commerce) would be a significant asset</li>
<li>Graduate from a Northern Ontario High School and awarded college diploma or university degree within the last three years</li>
<li>Under 29 years of age</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Skills and Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrated time management skills</li>
<li>Excellent teamwork orientation</li>
<li>Ability to plan, manage and direct awareness building activities</li>
<li>Superior organization skills</li>
<li>Superior research skills</li>
<li>Superior interpersonal and written communications skills (newsletters, reports, executive summaries, written correspondence, press releases)</li>
<li>Public speaking and presentation experience</li>
<li>Excellent knowledge of MS Office Software (knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, WordPress and social networking would be an asset)</li>
<li>Bilingualism is a considerable asset</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Working Conditions</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Monday-Friday, 8 hours a day including an hour unpaid lunch</li>
<li>The position reports to the Director of Operations</li>
<li>The position requires that the individual spend prolonged periods of time seated at a desk, using a desktop computer</li>
<li>Driver’s License mandatory as travel throughout the region will be required</li>

<li>SME technology promotion and adoption survey</li>
<li>Management of the Website and Facebook Page</li>
<li>On-going updates and new initiatives for website and Facebook</li>
<li>Development and delivery of E-business seminars to SME</li>
<li>ICT Industry Specific Newsletter – Retail, Mining, Health, Education, Forestry</li>
<li>Assist with social networking strategy development and implementation</li>
<li>Community outreach initiatives such as council meeting presentations, and communication with municipal official, community leaders, etc.</li>
<li>Assist with marketing initiatives and specific targeted projects</li>
<li>Other projects as assigned</li>

<p><strong>Remuneration</strong></p>
<p>Salary range commensurate with experience and will fall within $30,000 &#8211; $35,000.</p>
