NEOnet Attends FONOM

It’s been a busy month for the NEOnet staff because we have been to numerous community and regional events.

We attended The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities (FONOM) conference May 11-13 at the McIntyre Arena in Timmins. We set up an information booth in collaboration with The Productivity and Innovation Centre.

The theme of the conference this year was Sustainable Communities: The Northern Perspective. The goal of the conference was to highlight strengths and opportunities for strong and sustainable communities. One of the ways that NEOnet endeavours to create strong communities is through projects like Broadband expansion that, if successful, will provide broadband services to un-served and underserved areas.

Highlights included:

  • An introduction to the Honourable Kathleen Wynne
  • Attending the Current Initiatives at FedNor presented by Amie Dimatteo- Director General, FedNor
  • Brief meeting wth Jane Karhi, FedNor
  • The keynote address from Hon. Premier Wynne and Bob Ray
